The University of South Florida College of Nursing Alumni Society is pleased to invite the class of 1976 to celebrate their 35th reunion and induction into the Dean’s GEMS Society on Saturday, October 22 in the College of Nursing gathering space.
GEMS, or Graduates Exemplifying Many Successes, are inducted on the 35th anniversary of their graduation from the College of Nursing. All Gordon Keller School of Nursing graduates are part of the group as well. Each of the members received a pin, a tradition that will continue on during each reunion weekend. "I wanted to create a society to honor the alumni who helped pave the way for where we are today,” said Dean Dianne Morrison-Beedy. "We can’t rise to the level we want strive to be at unless we understand where we’ve come from. This group will help honor the history of the College of Nursing.”
In 2010, Alumni from the Charter Class of 1975 and the Gordon Keller School of Nursing were in attendance at the inaugural GEMS breakfast during Homecoming weekend. The group of honored alumni gathered for their induction into the Dean’s GEMS Society to share stories about the College of Nursing and reconnect with former classmates.
On October 22, 2011, the 35th reunion class of 1976 will be joined by the members inducted last year which include the Charter Class of 1975 and the Gordon Keller School of Nursing alumni. Any member of the class of 1976 who is interested in serving as a class agent to help connect your classmates for this reunion is encouraged to contact Lauren Kelly at (813) 974-7072 or lkelly2@health.usf.edu.
